There is a woman out there named Bindu Wiles. She’s a smack your knee kind of funny, Tibetan Buddhist, devoted yogi, eloquent writer, and life coach. I enjoy reading her stuff from time to time. She cracks me up all while stimulating my crazy mind:)
A shout-out to creativity consultant, Andrea Maurer, for introducing me to this one of a kind woman/blog.
Yesterday I saw a facebook post by business advisor, writer, and fellow creative – Danielle Laporte- about a new challenge/project that Bindu Wiles is starting (today actually). I checked in out last night and I’m in!
The challenge is called 21.5.800.
For 21 days, you do 5 days a week of yoga and write 800 words/day.
The rules aren’t as rigid as you’re probably thinking in your mind. You don’t have to go to a yoga studio…you can do it at home with a dvd or she offers up an easy pose (where you just lay on the ground, palms up for 15-30 minutes) to practice.
As for the writing…no rules there either. It can be ANYTHING. Fiction. Nonfiction. Journaling. A memoir. Blog. Business plans. Essays. Letters. ANYTHING.
I almost dismissed this challenge as I’m crazy-busy with traveling and work this month. But I sat and considered it.
A little yoga couldn’t hurt anything. It’s easy to say I don’t have time, but 15 minutes…c’mon. I’d be lying to myself if I said “I don’t have time for 15 minutes.”
And the writing…800 words is lofty. But seeing as how there are NO restrictions with what I write, it’s do-able! While I’m on a plane (as I will be 8 different times in June alone) I can crank it out to meet that day’s quota for sure. And waking up early to do morning pages is something that actually sounds appealing to me. I’ll let you know if that fades.
So, that is some of what I’ll be up to this month. Feel free to join me! And let me know if you do!
I’ll keep you posted on how it’s going:)
